Oil Free Grilled Plantains
This Oil Free Grilled Plantains recipe isn’t fried so it’s low-fat and healthier. The aquafaba marinade helps to brown the plantains so they look fried. It’s delicious!

Instructions
  1. Add the aquafaba, orange juice, brown sugar, water and cilantro to a medium sized mixing bowl and stir to combine.
  2. Slice the plantains on the diagonal. This makes them easier to flip on the griddle due to the nice beveled lip.
  3. Add the plantain to the mixing bowl and stir to coat evenly with the aquafaba mixture.
  4. Preheat an electric griddle or a non-stick frying pan. I set our electric griddle on 325 F.
  5. Place the plantain slices on the griddle and grill until brown on one side. Then flip them over to grill the other side. I flipped them back and forth until they were nice and brown, and a little crispy.
  6. Serve while they’re still warm, topped with a little salt to bring out the flavors.
Recipe Notes

Serving size is 1/2 of a plantain or 1/4 of the total amount. Good luck stopping yourself before they’re all gone!
